Like you, I really love old books and finding one is a real joy! The older and dustier and more crumpled a book is, the more read and the more loved it has been. I think a book is only a temporary visitor in a lot of people's lives but the story lives on and when you see this old friend again, it's pure magic!

Thanks Gemma! I'll give it a go. The trick there would be to eat enough during the day, which can be a challenge at work. I'm not opposed to training my body that way though.

Yes definitely need a big breakfast and big lunch, but then if you have to keep working after the big lunch you might feel sleepy. It's a conundrum. Maybe soup for training nights: make on the weekend, its quick to reheat, nutritious and easily digested.

My dojo is 5 mins away and I train at 6am so don't listen to me!

Everyone is so unique in body and mind, and in the interface, I do not pretend to know if this will work for you, but just to invite a different way of considering your conundrum. Although I do like the track you are already looking toward, having a bigger breakfast and a smaller dinner near the time you exercise, I would just also like to suggest that, although you do feel hungry after all that exercise, understandably so, you might try just embracing that hunger by way of getting used to the routine. Have a snack afterward, but if you still feel hungry, distract yourself from it until it becomes habitual to feel less full at that time. Your body will eventually get used to a new routine, just as your muscles eventually got less sore and tougher over time with the longer more strenuous workout. Acknowledge that you feel hungry, it is ok for your body to send those signals while it is getting used to the new routine and it will not harm you to do so because overall you are taking care of your body and addressing its nutritional needs.
Just an idea ...
